“European Eco Camp – Velingrad”
was a seven-day initiative aiming to educate 60 young people aged 15-19 from
Bulgaria, Romania and Spain about the value of forest resources and the
opportunities for improving usage by means of sustainable business. The
participants acquired valuable entrepreneurial skills and gained
knowledge about one of the greatest challenges faced by humanity – the
global environmental crisis
The activities
were largely held outdoors among nature and centuries-old woods –
treasure hunt, tree planning, hiking in the mountain. In the last two
days of the program the participants’ entrepreneurial thinking and
creativity was harnessed by an interesting challenge and gave them the
chance to apply in practice what they have learned during the first days
of the exchange. Divided into teams, the participants tried to come up
with innovative solutions to a business challenge related to the
protection and sustainable usage and management of forest ecosystems.
This event was
organized by JA Bulgaria in partnership with JA Romania and JA Spain. It
was supported by SOU “Vasil Levski”, Velingrad.
